Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we investigate the impact of a test battery on technical performance in basketball, and develop a novel measuring scale unique to basketball. The study group consists of 16 male volunteer athletes from the youth teams of Goztepe Sports Club, located in Bagcilar, Istanbul. The research involved measurements of age, height, and weight of the participants, and then testing their performance in dynamic and static shooting, passing, dribbling and defending. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS Version 25, and sample statistics were calculated. Shapiro-Wilk test was used to check for normality, and the samples were found to follow the normal distribution. We then utilized one-way ANOVA and a Tukey post hoc test to determine whether the differences between groups were statistically significant. As part of our analyses, we calculated 95% confidence intervals for the age, height, and weight of the participants, which were found to be 16.75±1.00 years, 173,81±6.72 cm, 66,56±6,83 kg, respectively. The BMI values were measured to have a 95% confidence interval of 21,99±1,38. The measurement scale we developed identified the following thresholds for different performance levels. For static shooting, very low performance corresponded to a score of 15 or below, while very high performance was observed to correspond to a score of 22 or above. These threshold values were 18 and 23 for dynamic shooting, 26.5 and 70.96 for passing and dribbling, and finally 31 and 80 for defending.
