Abstract (EN)

Erzurum which is one of the important cities of the Anatolian geography, had an important status among the history. Starting from the prehistoric period, because of both the geographic position and the richnesses it posses, lots of war had been screened in Erzurum and it had been one of the important settlement centre since those times. Erzurum that had been conquered by lots of countries with the beginning of the historical cessions, became an important exponent in the Byzantine Empire period and the population of the region exposed to the assimilation policy by Byzantines that had built castles. Again in this period as Byzantine ? Sasani struggle was lived, it was also tried to be conquered in Islamic period. After the period of `Hulefa-i Raşidin?, Erzurum fell into Emevi and Abbasi dominance, then Turkish dominance which will go on for a long time started. Among these, Saltuklu existence was sensed in the region until nowadays via important artistry and architecture left by them. Morever our heritage was enriched by constrictions from Selçuklu period.
