Özet (EN)
The Black Sea which is at the connection point of the Asia and Europe between Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia, is one of the inland seas of the world with the area of 432000 square kilometers and the volume of 534000 cubic kilometers. The Black Sea which is an oval shaped basin between Caucasus in the northeast, the Crimean mountains in the north and Pont ides in the south, has a very interesting geologic features such as very many mud volcanoes, canals carrying turbidities, active faults and pertaining geological and economic potentials such as methane leakages. The purpose of this thesis is to understand the relationship between Western Black Sea Basin and the Western Pont ides. In order to understand these relationships some geophysical data of gravity, magnetic, heat flow and seismic were used for the interpretation. With respect to the isostatic balance the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean basins are still sinking whereas they should have been risen, and the Anatolian is still rising whereas it should have been sinking. As a result the Western Black Sea basin has not got an isostatic balance and accordingly it sinks rather rising, the probable reason for this is the very thick cover sedimentary cover. Also it would not be wrong to say that some features in the basin have connections with the structures on land.
