Abstract (EN)
This study aims for searching out the concept of justice in Ottoman Empire, which ruled Asia, Europe and Africa for 600 years; including the interpretations of European travellers on the application of Islamic Law. Particularly since the years of increased political and economic power, Ottoman Empire has been an issue of concern for Europe. Many European travellers visited Ottoman Empire and had various evaluations. Letters, diaries and memories of these eyewitnesses shed light on the social and cultural life of the Ottoman Empire. Although the indigenous travellers such as Evliya Celebi and Latifi produced valuable works about the Ottoman Empire, but they are few in number. Most of the travel books on that field have been written by European travellers.
