Determination yield and quality characteristics of some durum wheat cultivars and lines in Central Anatolian region

This research was conducted to investigate yield, yield components and some quality characters of different durum wheat cultivars/lines in the Ankara-Haymana and KonyaAltınova conditions during 2010-2011 growing season. In the study twelve durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) genotypes were used as material. Field trials were established according to Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. In the research significant differences were determined between durum wheat varieties and lines in terms of investigated all the features except for number of spikes per square meter in the Haymana heading period in the Altınova. Also significant differences were determined between locations in terms of other investigated all the features except for single spike yield, test weight, protein content and sedimentation value. Changing grain yield between 293.5 and 549.1 kg/da in the Haymana, has changed between 241.3 and 370.2 kg/da in the Altınova. High grain yield values were obtained from genotypes Gdem-12, Eminbey and Hat-7 in the Haymana, from genotypes Mirzabey, Gdem-12 and Altın-98 in the Altınova. In the research the highest protein content was determined from cultivars Ankara-98 in the Haymana Hat-1 in the Altınova. High sedimentation values were obtained from genotypes Ankara-98 in the Haymana, Eminbey in the Altınova. According to the study results were observed that showed well a perform of Gdem-12 and Eminbey genotypes for grain yield Eminbey, Ankara-98 and Hat-20 for protein content and sedimentation value in the locations.
