Determining reaction of some lentil lines and varieties against crown rot (Phoma medicaginis var. pinodella) disease and effect of disease on yield in Mardin province conditions

VI DETERMINING REACTION OF SOME LENTIL LINES AND VARIETIES AGAINST CROWN ROT (Phoma medicaginis var. pinodella) DISEASE AND EFFECT OF DISEASE ON YIELD İN MARDİN PROVINCE CONDITIONS Mahmut ZİREK 2002/Page 51 ABSTRACT This study was conducted with 3 varieties and 26 lines of lentil, which were originally from Southeast Anatolia against crown rot {Phoma medicaginis var. pinodella) disease which infected in natural condition field with randomized block design and 3 replicated in Nusaybin district belong to Mardin province in 1 999 and 2000, The data were evaluated by pull-out of 100 plants from each plot in seedling and podding stages according to 0-5 scale, also effect of disease on yield were determined. According to evaluation all varieties and lines were infected with disease both seedling and broad stage, disease index and disease percentage were changed between 0.51-2.02 and 23.33-76.67 % in seedling stage; 1.14-3.03 and 47.67-96.67 % in broad stage respectively. The most resistant lines to disease were founded as İZ-10, İZ-3, İZ-31, İZ- 166, BM-332 and Winter Red Lines, and the most susceptible lines were recorded as RR- 16, BM-71 1, BM-716, ÎZ-213 and BM-66 respectively. It was determined a negative and an important relation between the disease index and disease percentage and yield in 0.05 level, also the grain yield were changed between 55.67 and 301.00 kg/da. The most productive lines were found as ÎZ-3, Winter Red Lines and IZ- 13 8, on the other hand the most unproductive lines were found as RR-16, BM-66 and İZ-93.
