Abstract (EN)

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is a fruit with high antioxidant content and high antitumor and anticancer activities due to its valuable secondary metabolites. The fact that it is used in many different fields has increased the demand for pomegranate fruit and this has positively reflected on the production. In this study, it was aimed to determine the expression levels of some genes related to anthocyanin synthesis affecting the nutritional composition. For this purpose, qRT-PCR reactions were performed using leaf, seed and fruit peel tissues belonging to "33N53", "İzmir-1479" and "19/147" varieties in the Pomegranate Genetics Collection of Cukurova University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and gene expression of tissues. level has been determined. In the analysis, the expression level of CHS, CHI, F3H and PAL genes was determined. As a result of the analysis, the expression level of CHS and CHI genes was high in leaf, grain and shell tissue of three varieties. However, the expression level of F3H and PAL genes was high only in tissues of 19/147 variety. The varieties of 19/147, which have a dark red color in terms of shell and grain color, were found to be compatible with the anthocyanin content and gene expression levels.
