Abstract (EN)

Taxonomy is a field of science having a great role in the development of biology as well as contributing to the stabilization of the field as a whole. In this study, it was aimed to describe Certain basins in Turkey species of the genus Orthrias on the basis of morphological and molecular findings. Morphotypes are described from an analysis of new morphological characters and 18S rRNA and Cox1 gene of mtDNA is sequenced representing each morphotype. Gens which were obtained as a result of experimental characterization were determined as cox1 and 18S rRNA. However, as no sequence information of cox1 and 18S rRNA of Orthrias species was available at the gene bank, they weren?t compared. In the analysis of gene bank, it was determined that family showed similarity to Balitoridae, a family including Orthrias species. In this study, it was determined that 650 bp of cox1 gen can be used as a DNA barcode. All the results obtained proved that studies of systematic morphological should be supported with genetic based studies.Enzymes of Glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and Catalase help to detoxificate effects of endogen and exogenous toxic compounds in living organisms. Change in expression of OaGSTz and OaCat mRNA level under the stresses with time intervals was analyzed with semi-quantitative RT-PCR method. Histopathological examinations were conducted on light and electron microscopic levels.
