Abstract (EN)
In this study, new Schiff base [3, 5-dibrominesalicylidene-o-aminophenol (L1H)] and [5-hydroxysalicylidene-o-aminiphenol (L3H)] have been synthesized by the reaction of aromatic aldehyde, 3,5-dibrominesalicylaldehyde and 5-hydroxysalicylaldehyde, with o-aminophenol. Using this ligand, 3 different complexes of Cd(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) in acetate forms have been synthesized in pure EtOH. Schiff base obtained has been characterized by their elemental analyses, IR, 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR, magnetic susceptibility and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). In addition to, the photophysical properties of L1H, L3H ligands and Cd(L1)2, Ni(L1)2, Zn(L1)2, Cd(L3)2, Ni(L3)2, Zn(L3)2 complexes in Sodium Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) environment have examined via UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy and steady state fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. The photophysical parameters of the ligand and its complexes in the studied systems have been calculated. The obtained results were discussed.
