Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine optimum sowing dates for different sweet corn cultivars in Yozgat Conditions. Four different sowing dates (12 May, 2 June, 22 June and 12 July) and 4 cultivars (Merit, Vega, KompozitŞeker and Sweet Corn) were used in order to determine the suitable sowing dates. The experiment was arranged in split plots desing with three replicates. In this research, the variation in investigated traits as follaws; mean germination period of plant (7.8-11.9 day), days of tasseling (76.3-83.0 day), days to maturity (102.0-109.3 day), plant height (98.8-139.3 cm), ear height (30.4-43.9 cm), ear length (15.5-19.9 cm), ear diameter(4.68-5.07 cm), row number per ear (14.8-17.1 number), kernel number per ear(466.5-645.0 number), single fresh ear weight (190.1-252.2 g), ear number(8730-9047.7 number/da) total ear yield (1629.5-2161.6 kg/da) were investigated. The highest fresh ear yield was obtained in 2 June sowing date over the cultivars. The highest fresh ear weight was obtained from cultivar Vega in 2 June. Key words: Sowing date, sweet corn, cultivars, fresh ear yield.
