Abstract (EN)
In recent years, people's efforts to return to nature have increased in every field with the increase in the level of knowledge and, accordingly, awareness. Sumac (Rhus coriaria L.) and coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.), which are grown and frequently used spices in our country, have an extraordinary bioactive effect because they are extremely rich in antioxidants, vitamins, fatty acids and minerals. Microalgae are photosynthetic organisms mostly found in wetlands. Applications of microalgae in the cosmetic industry have recently attracted interest in the treatment of skin problems such as anti-aging and pigmentation disorders.In this study, bioactive microcomposite synthesis suitable for dermatological use was carried out by combining the unique superior properties of sumac, coriander and algae. It is aimed to provide a better skin penetration by loading the bioactive sumac/coriander extract into the microemulsion. Microorganisms used in bioactivity tests of synthesized microcomposites are Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria found on the skin surface. Many methods are used to determine antimicrobial activities, and in our study, disc diffusion method was used to determine antimicrobial activity. It was observed that sumac, which showed the best inhibition effect on microorganisms, was ethanol extract (6% concentration) and microcomposite containing 10% algae. In addition to these, DPPH free radical scavenging activities, total phenolic content determination and polymer characterization (FT-IR) of sumac and coriander extracts were determined and their biological activities were investigated. In addition, the chemical content of water and ethanol extracts of sumac and coriander were determined by GC-MS method.
