Performance analysis of some single-tone frequency estimators

Frequency estimation of real sinusoid containing noise in signal processing area is discussed in this thesis. For the real sinusoidal data model, the performances of different estimators were analyzed. When these estimators are used together with various window functions, frequency estimators are analyzed. In experimental studies conducted in MATLAB software, Bartlett window function has been found to give the best performance in case of additive noise. In the absence of noise, it was found that the use of the window function had an adverse effect on the performance of the estimator.
