Studies on phenological stages, effective heat summations and compatibility with different locations of grape cultivars in antalya ecological conditions

This research carried out in the production season of 2017 with 34 grape cultivars which are being cultivated in Research and Collection Vineyards of the Faculty of Agriculture at Akdeniz University. The phenological stages, effective heat summation requirements and pomological features of grape cultivars were determined in the Antalya ecological conditions. The effective heat potentials were determined from the meteorological stations which at different locations of Antalya and grape cultivars effective heat requirements were compared with these potentials. Also the 3 different growing degree day (GDD) calculation methods and the 4 different daily average temperature determination methods which were reported by researchers before were used and compared in this research. As results of the research, it has been decided that Antalya has convenient conditions for viticulture except extreme locations of region and have a high diversity potential. The earliest cultivar was determined as 'Early Sweet' 925.48dd and the last matured cultivar was determined as 'Recel Uzumu' 2127.22dd in the local conditions. The shortest production period was determined at 'Prima' and 'Trakya Ilkeren' with 101 days and longest period was at 'Kara Erik' with 158 days. The most noticeable cultivar was 'Early Sweet' with quality features (TSS %17.9) and extreme early character (matured at 16th of June) in local conditions. It has been decided that the best daily average temperature method is the method by which 24 hours data are used. As a result of this research in Antalya it is thought that greenhouse vineyards will provide important advantages in marketing.
