Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determinate some morphological and physiological characters using 70 wild emmer (T. turgidum ssp. dicoccoides), 5 durum wheat (T. turgidum ssp. durum) and 5 bread wheat (T. aestivum ssp. aestivum) genotypes in 2005-2006 growing season. In this study, plant height (cm), spike length (cm), number of spikelet per spike, number of grain per spike, grain yield per plant (g), biological yield (g), harvest index (%), growing status, coleoptile colour, leaf width, auricle colour, waxness, heading time (day), thousand grain weight (g) and some diseases which occured under natural conditions such as stripe (Puccinia striiformis) and leaf rust (Puccinia recondita) were investigated. As a result of this study, it was found that wild emmer genotypes have higher genetic variation than tetraploid and hexzaploid cultivar wheats for some morphological and physiological characters.
