Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, synthesis and characterization of amphiphilic graft copolymer were performed by radical redox polymerization method using chitosan-MBSA complex with methyl methacrylate (MMA) or styrene vinyl monomers. The using of loaded with dexamethasone as cancer drug or unloaded micro/nanospheres prepared from synthesized copolymers were investigated. For this reason, Chitosan-MBSA complex was obtained by coupling with the amine groups which are reactive the chitosan with 4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid (tosylic acid) (MBSA) reaction. The chitosan-g-PMMA and chitosan-g-PS graft copolymers were synthesized using different amounts of chitosan-MBSA complex with MMA or styrene and ammonium cerium nitrate (CAN) initiator by redox polymerization method. Structural analysis and thermal analysis of the obtained copolymers was carried out using FT-IR, 1H-NMR and DSC and TGA techniques. Drug loaded using dexamethasone as a model drug and unloaded/micro/nanoparticles from these graft copolymers were prepared by solvent evaporation technique. The 79.8% of drug was loaded in Chitosan-g-PMMA microspheres The dimensions of unloaded and dexamethazon loaded Chitosan-g-PMMA microspheres were between 2.8- 11 µm and between 5.6-14.5 µm, respectively.
