Examination of the heavy metal concentration in the mushroom samples

Abstract (EN)
Russula cyanoxantha, Russula delica, Lactarius salmonicolor, Lactarius deliciosus, Pleurotus eryngii, Pleurotus ostreatus, Agaricus bisporus, Suillus luteus, Pleurotus spp., Boletus edulis and Hydnum repandum collected from Sakarya-Turkey respectively. Also canned food of the oyster, lactarius salmonicolor mushrooms were used for the examination. Trace metal concentrations of these mushrooms were determined inductively coupled plasma optic emission spectrometry after wet and microwave process. The results were obtained for barium 0-4.85 mg/kg, cadmium 0.37-11.63 mg/kg, chrome 0.3-26.65 mg/kg, cobalt 0.15-21.68 mg/kg, copper 17.38-132.75 mg/kg, iron 26.3-225.4 mg/kg, lead 11.52-182.5 mg/kg, manganese 0-22.29 mg/kg, nickel 2.57-39.28 mg/kg, zinc 22.86-126.84 mg/kg. Metal levels in some eatable mushroom species were found over the legal limits. The reliability of the procedure was verified with certified reference material.
