Özet (EN)

In the first part of this work, two original optical CO2 sensors were designed in very new matrix materials. The pH indicator dyes, bromothymol blue (BTB) and 8- hydroxypyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonic acid trisodium salt (HPTS) have been characterized in the ionic liquids of 1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (RTIL-I) and 1- methyl-3-butylimidazolium bromide (RTIL-II). The acidity constants (pKa) of the dyes have been determined and the spectral response of the sensor composition to gaseous and dissolved CO2 has been evaluated. In the second part, two original Fe3+ sensor designs were proposed. The photoluminescent properties of Fe3+ selective organic fluoroionophores, bis(7- methoxybenzofuran-2-il)ketoxime (BFK) and N-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-3,5-di-tbutyl salicylaldimine (DBS) were investigated in different solvents (dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, toluene and ethanol) and in polymer matrices of polyvinylchloride (PVC) and ethyl cellulose (EC) by using absorption and emission spectrometry. The response to Fe3+ ions was evaluated in terms of the effect of pH, ionic strength and cross sensitivity to other cations. In the third part, the oxygen sensitive dye of tris (2, 2'-bipyridyl) ruthenium (II) chloride was characterised in conventional and ionic liquid modified sol-gel matrices. The effect of sol-gel composition and ionic liquid amount to oxygen sensitivity were studied. In all sensor designs, the response time, long-short term stabilities, reversibility, limit of detection, linear concentration range and repeatability characteristics also have been studied. Keywords: optical sensors, ionic liquids, polyvinyl chloride, ethyl cellulose, sol-gel, carbon dioxide, iron
