Abstract (EN)
This thesis Mehmed Sâdık b. Mustafa Şanizade's (d. 1791) sakk collection named Bedâyiü's-sukûk has been studied as a historical text. The introduction of the collection, which was written in the 18th century, it is also stated that rare cases are included, which distinguishes this collection from other sakk collections. Şanizade's inclusion of rare cases apart from ordinary cases is the result of his efforts to guide the qadi. In the collection, which has been compiled with great care in terms of both content and form, the majority of verdicts and foundation documents, copies of elkabs, invitation tezkires and vakfiye signatures are included. The whole of the collection on the Beyazıt nr. 2675 copy, was examined in the study. Rare cases included in the the collection, cases related to statesmen along with copies of manuscripts, invitation tezkires, signature copies of foundation certificates are the main parts of this study. Inferences are made on the working discipline of the Ottoman qadi by questioning why each record might be important for the him. The study reveals that besides being a professional guide for the qadi, the sakk collections are a complementary source for history in almost every field due to the diversity of the litigation topics they have and are extremely important for history studies.
