Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to observe difficulties on emotional stability of high school students between the age of 14-17 that attend in Physical Education classes. The population of the research is 452 students who study in Serinyol Vocational and Technical Anatolian High school. Modelling method was not used and all the popultion was targeted. 65 students refused to participate in the research, 23 students couldn't be reached, 30 students partilally filled the whole questionnaire so that they couldn't be included in the research. In conclusion, only 334 students, who are 73,8% of the population were included. In the research, a questionnaire of 11 questions was used to gather information about the demographic characteristics of the athletes. In order to evaluate the emotion stabilization difficulties of the participants, a scale which was founded and developed by Baki DUY, that has 18 articles, 4 sub-articles and called "Emotion Stabilization Scale for Adolescents" (ESSA), was used in the evaluation process. In accordance with the purpose of the research, the data of the participants that gathered from the questionnaire was coded and uploaded in a computer. IBM SPSS statistics 20,00 packaged software was used in data analysis. In the analysis, frequency tables, Shapiro Wilk Test to provide relevance on data range, Student T Test to compare the alignment, and Single Direction Variance Analysis were used for determination. P<0,05 was accepted as statistically significant. When scores of internal functional feeling regulation dimension according to socio-demographic characteristics of participants were examined, it was observed that those born in big cities had higher internal functional feeling regulation scores than those born in villages (p˂0,05) It was determined that those who think that doing sports affects themselves positively are higher than those who think that they have negative effects on internal functioning regulation scores (p˂0,05). When scores of internal functional feeling regulation dimension according to socio-demographic characteristics of the participants were examined, intrinsic nonfunctional feeling regulation scores of born in the village were found higher than the born in big cities (p˂0,05). It is observed that those who think that doing sports affects themselves negatively are higher than those who think that it affects internally impaired emotion regulation scores positively (p˂0,05). It was determined that external non-functional emotional regulation scores of maternal education status of high school graduates are higher than graduated from elementary school (p˂0,05 As a result of the research, it has been observed that sports have a positive impact on emotional orientation of the adolescents and overcoming the difficulties.
