The effects of cooperative learning on the achievements of students’ cognitive, affective and psychomotor behaviors in physical education gymnastics unit

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of cooperative learning in Physical Education and Sport lessons in the students? affective, psychomotor and cognitive performances. The data was collected in the 9th grade students in a secondary school in Bolu, Mudurnu. The research lasted seven weeks. Experimental model was used in this research. There were two groups: experimental and control. The program based on cognitive learning was carried out the first group (experimental group). The second group (control group) was carried out the program prepared with using traditional method while the third group ( control group) didn?t have any education. Cooperative experimental group is made up 20, 10 male and 10 female. Traditional control group is made up 20, 10 male and 10 female. Noneducated control group is made up 19, 9 female and 10 male. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in both cooperative experimental group and traditional control group in cognitive and psychomotor domains (p<0.05), while there were no difference in both three domains of noneducated control group (p>0.05). When the cognitive, affective and psychomotor scores of cooperative experimental group and traditional control group were compared, there was a significant difference in cognitive domain in favor of cooperative experimental group (p<0.05). The statistical results showed, there was no significant difference in psychomotor and affective domains between cooperative experimental group and traditional control group (p>0.05).
