Examination of physical education teacher candidates' attitudes towards multicultural education

The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of physical education teacher candidates' towards multicultural education and to examine their attitudes towards multicultural education in terms of some variables ( gender, settlement unit, background of sport license, duration of possession of sport license, education level of parents). The study group of the research consists of fourth-year students studying in Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Düzce University, Kastamonu University, Bartın University, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and Karabük University Physical Education and Sports Teaching Departments in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year with the method of easily sampling determination. Scanning model has been used in the research. In the research, ' the attitude scale towards multicultural education for the teacher candidates ' developed by Anıl and Yavuz has been used (2010). The scale, consisting of 28 items, has a single-factor structure. As a result of the research, the attitudes of physical education teacher candidates towards multicultural education have been found at a high level. While there has been a statistically significant difference in terms of gender, background sports license, duration of possession of sports license, education levels of parents (p<0,05), there has been no statistically significant difference in terms of settlement variable (p>0,05).
