Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to evaluate the relationship between primary school teachers' non-instructional time use for professional tasks and their time management. Another aim is to examine the differences in selected variables, such as gender, age, seniority, grade level, and student count, in relation to non-instructional time use for professional tasks and time management. The research is designed according to the quantitative research model and adopts a descriptive and correlational survey method, aiming to reveal the current situation. The population of the study consists of primary school teachers working in the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey. The sample of the study consists of (n=260) participants. Descriptive forms, the Non-Instructional Time Use Scale for Professional Tasks, and the Time Management Scale were administered to the participants. The data obtained were entered into the SPSS 25.0 package program and analyzed using this software. Statistical analyses included Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis analysis. Spearman's correlation analysis was preferred to determine the levels of association. A significance level of p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. In conclusion, when examining the direction and level of the relationship between the total score of non-instructional time use for professional tasks and the total score of time management, a significant and positive relationship was found at a high level. According to the findings, as non-instructional time use increases, time management also increases in parallel.
