Examining future time perception and burnout levels of physical education and sports teacher candidatesexample of Bursa Uludağ University

In this study, it was aimed to examine future time perception and burnout levels in physical education and sports teacher candidates according to some variables (gender, grade level, grade point average, income level, competitive sportsmanship). The sample of the study consists of 198, 64.1% (n = 127 men) and 35.2% (n = 71 women) of pre-service teachers studying at Bursa Uludağ University sports sciences faculty physical education and sports teaching department. Demographic information form, Future time perception scale developed by Husman and Shell (1996) and Maslach Burnout inventory student form (MTE-ÖF) scale Schaufeli, (1996) were used as data collection tools. While analyzing the obtained data, methods such as frequency, average and percentage were used. The determination of whether the data is normally distributed or not was analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests and it was observed that the data were distributed normally. Independent T test to compare two groups in quantitative data with normal distribution; One Way-Anova tests were used to compare three and more groups. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to determine the effect of future time perception scale on burnout inventory scale and significance level was tested for p <0.05 and p <0.01. When the findings were evaluated in general, according to the results of the correlation analysis, it was observed that there was a positive significant relationship between the commitment, speed and breadth sub-dimensions of the future time perception scale and the total dimension of the burnout inventory scale.
