An exami̇nati̇on of physi̇cal educati̇on and sports teachers' professi̇onal sati̇sfacti̇on and teachi̇ng moti̇vati̇on i̇n terms of some vari̇ables

Teachers are undoubtedly one of the indispensable elements of education and training. Taking todays' conditions into consideration, teachers have great contributions to education. It is possible for the education-training process to be effective and efficient by providing a quality education. Getting the required efficiency from the education-training process is only directly related to the satisfaction of teachers in their profession and their teaching motivation. The purpose of this study is to establish the effect of examining the Professional satisfaction levels and teaching motivation of Physical Education and Sports teachers in terms of some variables on their profession. Semi-structured interview form, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used to determine the opinions of Physical Education and Sports teachers about their professional satisfaction in this study and the quantitative research was used in the general survey model in determining the thoughts about teaching motivation. In conclusion, it was found that gender, marital status, educational status, types of school and number of activities attended did not affect motivation dimensions; however it can be said that the variables of duty time and course load affect the motivation dimensions. In addition, examining the opinion on the profession, it has come to the forefront that the teaching profession is a sacred and respected profession, a profession that should be transformed into value and directs the society. On the other hand, as the research group expactation, They stated that it is necessary to spread the culture of Physical Education and Sports in the society, to raise individuals who love sports, to eliminate the prejudice against Physical Education and Sports lessons. Regarding the reasons for the research group to choose Physical Education and Sports teaching; It was seen that they prefered Physical Education and Sports because of being athletes and loving the teaching profession. Furthermore, the research group stated that they were worried about the insufficient opportunities, not valuing Physical Education and Sports lessons, negative prejudices against the lessons, problems with the school administration and parents. It was concluded that teacher had problems due to insufficient physical environment conditions, incapable equipment, problems with the school administration and inadequate course hours.
