Analyzing the relationship between the awareness of cyber bullying and technological self-efficacy of physical education teachers (Kahramanmaraş city sample)

The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between the awareness of cyber bullying and technological self-efficacy of physical education teachers. The population of the research is 220 physical education and sports teachers working at state schools in Kahramanmaraş City and the sample of research is 188 randomly selected physical education and sports teachers. Personal Information Form, Teacher Cyber Bullying Perception Scale by Ayas and Horzum, Self-Efficacy Perception Scale for Online Technologies developed by Miltiadou and Yu and adapted by Horzum and Cakir are used in gathering the data. First of all, normality test is conducted in data analyzing. Afterwards, the parametric tests: "T-Test and Anova Test" are used in the situations to evaluate the level of differenciation according to variables when there are more then 30 test takers, and "Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H" non-parametric tests are used when there is less then 30 test takers in the groups. Pearson Correlation Analyze is applied to identify the type and the level of the relationship between dependant variables. In the evaluation of the results, p<,05 significance value is selected as baseline. Significant differences are finded out in the level of awareness of physical education and sports teachers depending on the variables of their gender and the year of experience. No significant difference is detected depending on other variables. No significant difference is found in variables of technological self-efficacy of physical education and sports teachers. A significant, midlevel, positive relationship is characterised between the technological self-efficacy and the level of awareness in cyber bullying in physical education and sports teachers. It is identified in the research that physical education and sports teachers have a high level of awareness of cyber bullying and technological self-efficacy. It is observed that physical education and sports teachers with a high level of self-efficacy also have a high level of awareness of cyber bullying.
