relationship between social efficacy and problem solving abilities of students in Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching.(1st,2nd,3rd and 4 th grades)

This study is carried out to determine if there is a relationship between social efficacy and problem solving abilities of students in Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching.(1st,2nd,3rd and 4 th grades)791 students, studying in Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching from different universities in 2009-2010 educational term are included. In this study as assessment instruments `Social Self-Efficacy Inventory?(SÖZYE) and `Problem Solving Inventory(PÇÖ) are used. As a result,it is found that there is a slight, positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and problem solving of these students. For self-efficacy there is a significant difference between the points of girls and boys. This difference is towards boys. For different grade levels self-efficacy points of 4th graders are higher than 1st graders. For different age groups, self efficacy of 21-23 aged students? points are higher than 18-20 aged ones? and also the students, ages of which are older than 24 take higher grades than 18-20 aged ones. These results point out a significant difference. Problem solving points for different ages are determined as; the points of 21-23 aged students are higher than 18-20 aged ones? and also the students, ages of which are older than 24 take higher grades than 18-20 aged ones. These results also point out a significant difference. For problem solving ability points in terms of graduated high schools are listed as; the points? of students graduated from vocational high school are higher than the ones graduated from a general high school. For self efficacy in terms of environment where s/he brought up, it is found that; the points of ones living in big cities are higher than the ones living in towns or villages and the other difference is rooted from the reason that the points of ones living in cities are higher than the ones living in villages. These findings also point out significant differences.
