Abstract (EN)

Disability can be defined as, a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long term adverse effecet on your ability to carry out normal day to day activities. Disabled people population is more than 600 million in the world. In Turkey, the disabled population is approximately 8.5 million. Due to growth of disabled people tourism expenditure in Europe as 80 billion euro and America as 175 billion dollar, people with disabilities become an important developing market in the world tourism industry.In this study, the aim is to explore the perception and expection of disabled people for tourism industry. To serve this purpose, a online questionnaire survey and assessors were conducted for 415 disabled people in Turkey. The validity and reliability studies of the scale were implemented; following this the questionnaire was applied between February 7 and February 25 to the sample population. Data obtained were analyzed through ?frequency?, percentage?, ?t-test for correlation measurements?, ?one-factor variance (ANOVA) analysis? and Tukey test? analyses.The results of the analyses of the hypotheses of the study suggest that there have a significant effect on frequency of travelling and services provided by hotel establishments. As a result of the findings of the study, given a number of recommendations related to travel agencies, hotel establishments and tourism destinations about how to improve the conditions in the Turkish tourism industry for physically disabled market.
