Abstract (EN)

In this research, Beethoven?s musical periods, compositional style, works, and his identity both as a composer and conductor were examined in details; then, composition techniques used in the first movement of the Fifth Symphony were analyzed in terms of its form and harmonic structure. Conducting styles of various conductors were examined comparatively from the beginning of this work, and, by this methodology, several rehearsal suggestions for conductors were made.During this study, as a conventional musician in the beginning of his career, Beethoven?s new form and musical comprehension was examined through the musical expansion he established later on, and the way that how these compositional traits are presented in the Fifth Symphony was also examined. Moreover, his contributions to music literature and, as a result of these contributions, new ideas and musical responses were mentioned.Departing from this kind of musical comprehension, composition and performance related procedures found in the Fifth Symphony were investigated and the materials utilized in the first movement and the issues that conductors should pay attention to were mentioned. Video recordings of six conductors; who were regarded to be competent in conducting of this work, were frame by frame analyzed as well.
