Abstract (EN)

The fact that national culture and values are almost encountered the danger of disappearance with globalization brings on the agenda the values education and values education starts to take part in the education systems. MEB gives place to values education as totalitarian in every disciplines in its programmes. On the other hand, the texts in the textbooks are also important tools for gaining value. Therefore, the texts in the textbooks ought to be appropriate to make students gain values. The aim of this study is to analyze twenty-nine of childeren's books written by Behiç Ak, one of the writers of todays children's literatüre, in therms of values education. This study is in a descriptive quality and is made by document analysis method. In the study general scanning model and document analysis techniques were used. In the first part of the study problem state, the importance of research, its aim, hindrance, hypothesis and definitions are identified. In the second part of the study, conceptual frame is drawn and related researches are mentioned. In the third part, the method of the study and the process of implementation exists. In the fourth part, The acquired findings and the interpretations of findings are made. In the fifth part the resuts of the researches are put forth and some recommendations are made. As a resul of this study, Behiç Ak's children's books can be chosen as reading books at the level of pre-school and basic education and they include important elements to transmit values from generation to generation. It is also concluded that these Works mentioned would be beneficial in the education of individual and social values.
