Comparison of the municipal employees job satisfaction and customer satisfaction

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the job satisfaction of the employees in Kadıköy and Maltepe Municipalities and the customer satisfaction of the citizens are compared, and the effects of the job satisfaction factors on customer satisfaction are studied. A survey of job satisfaction which is the composed of 36 questions that has 9 subscales (Pay, promotion, supervision, fringe benefits, contingent rewards, operating conditions, co-workers, nature of work, communication) was carried out on the employees. A survey of customer satisfaction composed of 22 questions was carried out on the citizens. 572 people participated in the survey and the reliability and validity of the obtained data were checked in SPSS 17 programme, and were examined by the methods of factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. As a result, it was found out that the fringe benefits which affect the job satisfaction of employees in Kadıköy Municipality also affect the customer satisfaction positively, and the rest of the subscales don't have a significant relation with the customer satisfaction In Maltepe municipality it was found out that the factor of contingent rewards which affects the job satisfaction of employees has a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and the rest of the subscales dont't have a significant relation with the customer satisfaction.
