Investigation of life view of emerging adults with existential perspective

Abstract (EN)
In this study, the factors that affect the life view of emerging adults are examined in the context of existential approach. Eighteen students who were selected by maximum variation sampling method from the purposeful sampling methods. As for diversification, individuals who continue their undergraduate, graduate and doctorate education between the ages of 19-27 are selected. 18 people who continuing their undergraduate, graduate and doctorate education in Ankara in 2019-2020 participated in the research. In the qualitative mixed pattern research in which quantitative and qualitative methods were used together, firstly, the view of life scale was applied to the participants and then interviews were conducted in-depth. In order to determine whether the participants were emerging adults or not Views of Life Survey was used as well as semi-structured interviews were conducted using the interview form developed by the researcher and containing 15 questions. When the data obtained from the Views of Life Survey were analyzed, it was seen that the participants' average scores obtained from the survey is high. The data which obtained from the interviews were analyzed and then the codes created by the participants about the emerging adulthood were interpreted by associating them with 10 themes. The 10 themes are: Adulthood, Responsibility, Unique Life, Feeling Indecision and Emptiness, Meaning of Life, Sociability and Loneliness, Interest, Opportunities, Anxiety and Stress, and Death.
