A model proposal for successful implementation in business: Four dimensional execution table

The main occupation of this dissertation is about delays, interruptions or failures in implementing a determined strategy. In the literature, studies on this problem show a messy structure. In these studies, firstly, obstacles and success factors or models for a successful implementation were proposed. Different interpretation of these models or success factors by different strategy schools caused additional confusion. Thus, a solution was sought for the problem by grouping success factors as "content", "framework" or "context". These studies revealed "what to do" with apparently no success in implementation. In this thesis, success factors were also examined and eight most frequently used factors were determined. These factors were first grouped as "framework" and "process" factors. Then "process" factors are regrouped one more time, and the context of "effectiveness and efficiency" is obtained. Deductive method and military literature are used for second grouping. Effectiveness and efficiency constitute the main structure and dimensions of the proposed model. "Synchronization Matrix" for effectivess and "Game Theory" which compares internal and external factors for efficiency are used. The model consist of two main parts. First part includes making a "preparation" based on "effectiveness and efficiency" prior to implementation. This preparation is organized in the form of an "implementation program". Second part is the execution phase. In this phase, implementation program should be taken as a guide. For a successful implementation, firms should be organized in "strategic, tactical and transaction levels (horizontal segmentation)", and "current transaction group and future operations group (vertical segmentation)". )". However, the main source of strategic success is found in the motto of Sun Tzu: "Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
