The effect of some weaving constructions on fabric performance properties

Prof. Dr. Rızvan EROLAssist. Prof. Dr. Nihat ÇELİKThe effects of definite types of weaves on fabric performances wereresearched in this study. For this purpose, a main weave was selected. After this,five fabric were weaved with this main weave and other types of weaves made fromthe main weave. The same finishing processes were applied to these fabrics as theyhave the same yarns and weaving parameters. The fabrics were tested for the densityof yarns, weight per unit area, width, dimensional stability, tensile and tearingstrength, thickness, pilling, crease resistance, stiffness, seam slippage. The statisticalanalysis of the results were made and after that the results are argued. It was seen thatthe results did not show great differences but there were some differences whichcould be occured because of floating and interlacing.Key Words: Woven Fabric, Fabric Performance, Elaborated Weave, FabricStructure
