Abstract (EN)

In this study, in vitro antioxidant and probable prooxidant activities of infusions of different concentrations of Bellevalia crassa Wendelbo plant grown in Erzincan province were investigated with their mechanisms of action. When in vitro experiments was examined, Bellevalia crassa was found to have antioxidant activity in all concentrations. On the other hand, although the mechanism experiments showed that Bellevalia crassa showed an antioxidant effect on one mechanism of antioxidant action at the same concentration, it was found that this effect did not show parallelism with the other mechanism. In the mechanism of this, free radical scavenging activity, O2- scavenging capacity and H2O2 scavenging ability showed antioxidant activity, but decreases in this activity were observed at high doses. As a result, the decrease in antioxidant activity with increasing concentration shows that the antioxidant activity potential of Bellevalia crassa may change depending on the concentration. As a result, the decrease in antioxidant activity with increasing concentration shows that the antioxidant activity potential of Bellevalia crassa may change depending on the concentration.
