A research of using lie on self presentation and creating impression

The concept of lies, which can be evaluated in various fields such as sociology, psychology, religion, has been handled in a behavioral dimension in the studies conducted in the field of communication. In this study, the effects of the lie on daily life rather than behavioral or ethical aspects are discussed. After the concept of lies, which was first examined in terms of its meaning, it was tried to be handled within the framework of its use in social life.Therefore, it has been deemed necessary to investigate the concepts of self, personality and identity. In addition to the conceptual framework of the study, lies were handled in terms of their effect on creating an impression, and habits regarding its use were tried to be observed.In the theoretical framework, Goffman's study of self-presentation in daily life was used and various information was obtained about the participants' habits of lying and for what reasos the applied to the lie by using an in-depth interview technique. As a result of all these evaluations, it was concluded that the lie was used as a communication strategy to control our daily life and regulate our relations.
