Abstract (EN)
In our study, firstly, the methacrylate monomers bearing coumarin and benzyl side group synthesized from acylation reaction of methacryloyl chloride with 7-hydroxy comarin and benzyl alcohol.Homo and copolymerization of 2-Oxo?2H-kromen?7-il-metakrilat (KMA) and its copolymers with benzyl methacrylate (BMA), were performed by the free radical polymerization method (FTR) using AIBN as an initiator at 60 oC.The homo- and copolymers were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR techniques. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) was used to find out the molecular weights of polymers. Thermal analysis measurements of polymers prepared by ATRP and FRP methods were measured by (TGA, DSC and DTA).In copolymer system of MAOC and BMA, the initial decomposition temperatures of the resultant copolymers decreased with increasing mole fraction of BMA.The monomer reactivity ratiosof MAOC and BMA were computed using Kelen-Tüdös (K-T) and Fineman-Ross (F-R) methods and were found to be r1: 0.45, r2:1.29; r1:0.46, r2:1.33 respectively (r1 is monomer reactivity ratio of MAOC).Blends of P(MAOC) and P(BMA) obtained via FRP method were prepared by casting films from dichloromethane solution. The blends were chracterized by DTA.AC electrical conductivity (?AC), dielectric permittivity (??) and dielectric loss factor(???) for P(BMA), P(MAOC), copolymers of MAOC and BMA, P(MMA-co-CMS9%), P[(MMA-co-CMS9%)-g-BMA], and mixed with EuCl3 have been investigated. The conductivity and dielectric permittivity values, which were found, for all polymer samples are higher than that of the pure polymers. For all investegated samples, at the constant temperatures the frequency dependence of (?AC)was found to obey the relation ?AC= Awn.The homopolymer of BMA by using CAC (coumarin asetato chloride) as initiator in the presence of cuprous (I) bromide (CuBr) was perfomed by ATRP(Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization) method at 100 oC.The graft copolymer via ATRP of BMA, by using P(MMA-co-KMS9%) as initiator in the presence of (CuBr) was performed in different times at 100 oC.The kinetics of the termal degadation of the graft copolymer was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis at different heating rates. The activation energy values obtained were determined by the Kissinger, Flynn Wall-Ozawa, and Tang. The P(BMA) ended coumarin and the P(KMA-co-BMA65%) containing coumarin group were dimerized by using photodimerization property of coumarin.Key Words: Monomer reactivity ratios, dielectric behavior, blend, ATRP, FRP, thermal analysis, Coumarin, Europium(III)chloride, AC-electrical conductivity, Photodimerization
