Abstract (EN)
Evaporation of light hydrocarbons from reservoirs and gasoline tanks occurs at any temperature and under all environmental conditions, therefore it is very important to control the reduction of hydrocarbon evaporation. This evaporation pollutes the environment, affects the health of employees and society, the quality of gasoline in terms of physical and chemical properties, and the economy of the country. For these reasons, effective solutions are sought to reduce the evaporation rate of gasoline hydrocarbons. In this thesis, by applying displacement reaction as a new method to reduce the evaporation rate of light hydrocarbons in gasoline tanks, four organic compounds (OC) in different ratios (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4) using KOH and EDTA. has been prepared. Synthesized OCs were applied together with gasoline in the vapor pressuremeter chamber of our own design and saturated vapor pressures were measured. At the end of the tests, the optimum concentration, percentage of vapor pressure reduction and the effective residence time of the gasoline in the tank during the withdrawal addition processes were determined for each OC. Accordingly, when OC I, II, III and IV compounds were added to the tank containing high octane (95 octane) gasoline, the evaporation rates of light hydrocarbons from the tank were 71.8%, 73.6, 75.6 and 77.1 percent, respectively. After adding OCs (I, II, III and IV) to the tanks at optimum concentrations (1, 3, 4 and 2 mg/kg), it was observed that the efficiency of the gasoline during the subtraction addition processes continued 21, 19, 23 and 27 times, respectively. According to the findings, OC-IV compound was determined as the most effective compound. The concentration of OCs in the tank is at a level that does not affect the chemical properties of gasoline, crude oil and its derivatives, and has a surface effect that will reduce the evaporation rate of light hydrocarbons.
