Synthesis of heterocycle compounds containing benzoxazole and benzothiazole structure and investigation of some biological properties

Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the number of studies has been increasing steadily because of the wide range of pharmacological and biological activity of heterocyclic systems. In addition, synthesing of benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives which have fused azole, diazole or oxadiazole ring system have been increased. In this study, at the first step we synthesized 4 novel benzothiazole derivatives. Initially 1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiol which registered in the literature was reacted with ethyl bromoacetate to yield ester derivative then, this structure was interacted with hydrazine hydrate to convert hydrazide derivative. Hydrazide group was subjected to gived cyclization reaction with CS2 under basic condition to obtained benzothiazole derivative containig oxadiazole cycle. This compound reacted with 4 different 2-bromoacetophenone derivatives to yield target benzothiazole derivatives, respectively. In the second part of this study, firstly 7 and 8 compounds were synthesized from the reaction of 2-bromoacetophenone derivatives with 1,3-benzoxazole-2-thiol and 1,3-benzothiazole-2-thiol, respectively. Then, these compounds reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to yield type 8 compounds which containing oxime gruop with benzoxazole and benzothiazole ring systems. Most of reactions were utilized by both microwave-assisted and conventional methods for comparing yields and reaction time. With this study we obtained 25 compounds 11 of which not found in the literature. All structures of the obtained compounds were characterized by using spectroscopic techniques like IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass spectroscopy. All obtained compounds in this study were also investigated for their urease and antioxidant activities. All compounds esipecially 9a-d series showed very high urease inhibition activity compared to standart.
