Abstract (EN)
In this study, international green building certification systems and energy performance certification systems applied in Europe and Turkey are examined. Residential buildings' general situation in Turkey, the percentage of energy consumption and residential lighting energy saving potential are investigated. In practice, BEP-TR software is used to design two residential building models with standards before and after year 2000 and according to these models residential buildings' general energy performance is evaluated. The annual energy consumption and the potential savings of incandescent and commonly used energy efficient light bulbs are identified using the BEP-TR software.
