Abstract (EN)

The city planning initiated in the last century of the Ottoman Empire continued after the foundation of the Republic, and after the reconstruction of Ankara, which was declared as the capital, other cities were transferred. Opening large parks and gardens for public use; a feverish work has been initiated in Istanbul in order to save the building density around the monumental works, to create monumental squares and to expand the streets as needed and to construct the elements that are thought to be in the city.During the mayor of Lüfi Kırdar, while the city was shaped with the plans made by Henri Prost, the construction activities were carried out under the presidency of Adnan Menderes and the existing streets were expanded, and new streets and squares were opened in line with the need after the Democratic Party came to power. In our study, which deals with the reconstruction activities carried out after the Republic, the works that were destroyed, changed and relocated during the expropriations on the Beşiktaş and Topkapı route were examined and a visual resource was tried to be created.
