Abstract (EN)

Nutrition is one of the most basic needs of people and one of the basic rights that people have because they are human. In terms of being compulsory for the continuation of life, the nutrition right is a prerequisite for the realization of other human rights. This right is protected by many conventions and legal regulations, both in our legislation and in international conventions. However, despite all the regulations, it cannot be said that the nutrition right is realized in terms of everyone living in the world. The rates of hunger and food insecurity in the world population continue to increase day by day. This shows that works and regulations related to the nutrition right are insufficient. With this study, it is aimed to draw attention to the importance of the nutrition right and the lack of being not regulated among the basic constitutional rights although it is the most basic need. In addition, by the concept of food security, which is closely related to the nutrition right, and what the factors that affect food security and what can be done against these factors are tried to be explained. And also, it is explained that what the genetically modified foods are, produced as a result of biotechnological studies in order to ensure food security and prevent food insecurity and their positive and negative effects on food security. In addition, in the last part of our study, what the halal food is within the scope of nutrition right and the certification processes carried out to determine the halal market and halal food in the world and in our country are explained. Furthermore, some of the organizations that issue halal certificates in the world and in Turkey are explained and current problems in halal food are discussed.
