Abstract (EN)

In this study; the samples of Traditional Folk Music (TFM) were based on in terms of composing practice. Within this context, by analyzing the samples created by Azerbaijan composition school with regard to their styles, applied models with today's composing and polyphonic techniques were given place. In this study, which was conducted with descriptive method, descriptive survey model is based upon. In collecting data, literature review, document analysis and interview techniques were used. In this study, which covers a certain time period and work types, note sources were scanned and sound/video sources analysis was made. In the study, "Interview" method, which is described as "It is the data collection method with oral communication" ( Karasar, 2015: 165 ) by Prof. Dr. N. Karasar, was given place and expert opinions about this subject were received. In the study; the conclusion was reached that the works composed in symphonic genre by Azerbaijan composition school in the first half of XX century constitute a rich content about the subject in terms of mode, melody, harmony, form and instrument. In the study, by moving from the composition examples of Azerbaijan composition school, the role and importance of TFM in International Classical Music (ICM) were researched. Moreover, by benefiting from the successful examples this school created, polyphonic vocalization of melodies that belong to TFM was made and as a result of that accompaniment model for piano came to light. The following findings were reached that it is possible to design new models to be produced by determining the place of TFM in composition practice, however the term harmony came to the forefront in this process, and accordingly, while forming harmonic expression in order for a composition to have modal form, new solutions are needed.
