Within the scope of this thesis, new reinforced concrete buildings which are evaluated and compared by linear methods according to the DBYBHY 2007 and TBDY 2018 earthquake code.The analysis result found separately by using DBYBHY 2007 and TBDY 2018 codes are compared. It is desired to see what kind of differences may ocur regarding the evaluation of a reinforced concrete building with the renewed earthquake code.The definition of the design spectrum haschanged in new code. A design spectrum with a larger spectral acceleration value is defined as the lateral design spectrum. For the first time definition of the vertical design spectrum was included in the new earth quake code. To evaluate the effect of the vertical earthquake load, a reinforced concrete building which has B3 irregularity is designed. Vertical earthquake effect, for minimum values of load combinations, has high values of deflection. New seismic code provide smaller effective section stiffnesses. The geometry of the building and the structural system of the building are introduced. Two models of reinforced concrete building have been analyzed. A summary of the results of the linear elastic evaluation of the structure is given. Calculated values are compared. Shear force values are increasing in the analysis results made according to the new code. According to the new code, with the horizontal earthquake loading, it is seen that the deformation demand obtained in the sections are smaller than the analyzes made with section stiffnesses. Analyzes made according to the new code show that eventhough the building has larger shear forces and displacements, there is less damage to the elements. According to analysis of two models, the new earthquake code has been found more reliable than old code.
