Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, material properties and local soil class of a reinforced concrete building (failure in real) are determined by its failure mechanism obtained numerical methods. Fibre element method is used for non-linear behavior of this building. Mander, Priestly and Park concrete model and Menegotto-Pinto steel model are selected for nonlinear behavior of concrete and steel in the Fibre element method, respectively. Aslan motel failure in the Van city is used for the numerical analysis. This building is damaged due to 23 October 2011 Van earthquake and failure due to 9 November 2011 Van-Edremit earthquake. Some material properties and local soil classes of the building are firstly determined by static push-over analyses. Nonlinear dynamic analyses of Aslan motel are obtained by considered seismic effects of 23 October 2011 Van earthquake and 9 November 2011 Van-Edremit earthquake. Therefore, material properties and local soil class of Aslan motel are determined by comparing failure and damage cases of the building.
