Abstract (EN)
There are behavioral criteria that the structures should show under the effect of earthquake. Damage above the expected level indicates that the structures are not well designed or are not careful during their implementation. Well constructed or properly designed structures can also fill their lives and collapse under their own weight. Reinforced concrete structural elements or system in general determined to be inadequate for such reasons are repaired and strengthened by various methods. There are various approaches to strengthening a structure. It is important to determine the most efficient and effective method among these different studies. The efficiency criteria for each type of structure will be different. The strengthening strategy for building groups will be implemented nationwide. To monitor the existing building stock in Turkey strategies and methods are examined, architectural effects are evaluated. The basic principles on which the proposed strengthening proposals should be preferred or not should be examined. As a result, in this thesis, the criteria for the strengthening of new residential buildings have been established in line with the problems identified in the samples examined. Changes in the structure of different strengthening proposals are emphasized. Architectural strengthening of different reinforcement methods considered for a building in the earthquake zone; spatial, façade, structural, installation effects, in terms of time and cost, ease of application, and the extent of the work item are examined.
