Aim: High cognitive skills are required in soccer so that players can perform their physical and technical skills. Recently brain centered soccer practice has been used for the development of these skills. But it has just begun to be implemented in our country. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of brain centered pass drill training in the soccer applied during the season on the rate of possession of balls in league matches. Methods: This study was participated by 15 football players who played football in Altınordu Football Club U19 category. The brain-centered pass drill that will be applied to the footballers in our research for 29 weeks is demonstrated with visual analysis at least once a week and applied with a training program consisting of 3 days a week and 25 minutes. These drillers are designed to develop the cognitive abilities of the players in the competition, starting from the beginning level to the complex level where it is effective to make quick decisions. Since the beginning of the competition season, each league match has been filmed with a camera to assess the effectiveness of these drills in the competition. Using the SportsCode Game Breaker analysis program and the Tiga Digital stopwatch, the duration of the ball remaining in the opponent and in the Altinordu Football Club has been determined. Results: Significant differences were found when comparing the playing times of Altınordu Football Club with other teams. This difference was found to be significant when the half of match were examined separately and also when they were examined in total.(* p<0,05). When the playing time of 15 minutes intervals was compared, the playing time of Altınordu Football Club was significantly higher every 15 minutes (* p<0,05). When Altınordu Football Club compared to other teams playing time of the ball in the 1st and 2nd, 3th zone, Altınordu Football Club played more balls than the other teams (* p<0,05). Conclusion: Brain-centered pass drill exercises during the pre-season and the competition phase increase the playing time of the ball. According to results of this study, brain centered pass drill training in soccer is recommended for performance improvement and ball possession for coaches.
