Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, the complexities related with classification of taxa in the genus Pisum L. are still continued. Pollens have a great importance to describe the differentiationinpollen structure and relationships among the species during evolution process. The aim of this study is to undertake relationships among pollen grain, seed coat and agro-morphological traits in five pea taxa (P. sativum subsp. sativum var. sativum L.,P. sativum subsp. sativum var. arvense L.,P. sativum subsp. abyssinicum (A. Braun) Govorov, P. sativum subsp. elatius (Bieb.) Aschers.& Graben and P. fulvum Sibth.& Sms.According to images obtained using light (LM) and electron microscopes (SEM), pollen shape, ornementation and aperture type of the genus Pisum L. was determined as subprolated, reticulate and tricolporate, respectively. Pollen sizes and P/E ratios of the cultivated peas (P. sativum subsp. sativum var. sativum, P. sativum subsp. sativum var. arvense ve P. sativum subsp. abyssinicum)were higher than those of wild species (P. sativum subsp. elatius ve P. fulvum). On the other hand, shape of muri and lumina on pollen surface in the cultivated peas were smaller than those of wild species. Number of muri and lumina especiallyin P. fulvumwas quietly less than the others but size of muri and lumina was the largestin P. fulvum. Seed surface each 5-taxon were decorated with different shapes. Seed surface of the cultivated peas were smooth, while it was found as papillose in wild species. Plant height, the first pod height, the number of main branches and pods per plant, the pod length were higher in the cultivated species than those of wild species. According to PCA, wild species were distinctly different from the cultivated taxa. The findings,due to fact that pollen structures and seed coats of some taxa of the genus Pisum L. have not been studied before, possesses an important source of information.
