Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted at Cukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture and Swedish University of Agriculture Science at the Research Area of Field Crops Department. This research was conducted to determine the effect of different seeding rates and methods on the grain yield and yield components of wheat and pea intercrops at Agriculture Faculty of Cukurova University. Field trails were organized in randomized complete blocks design with four replications at the autumn of 2014 and 2015. Grain yields of intercropped pea and wheat were less than sole crop pea and sole crop wheat. Total grain yield of intercrops was higher than sole crop pea, but it was lower than sole crop wheat. Total grain yield of intercrops including 50 % or 67 % of pea at the same row was high compared to other intercrops. On the other hand, effect of different pea cultivars and sowing rates on the yield and the nitrogen acquistion in pea and wheat intercrops was investigated at the Swedish University of Agriculture Science in 2017. This experiment design was replicated four times in a randomized complete blocks experiment design. Differences between the intercrops and sole crops were no significant for total grain. Amount of N2 fixed in pea in the intercrops for grain was less than sole crop pea cultivars. In both experiment it was found that intercrops use environmental sources for plant growth factors more efficiently than the sole crops for grain production.
