The status of the knowledge of the nursing process Bezmialem Vakif University Faculty Health Sciences Department of nursing students (1,2,3,4)

This research was conducted to determine the status of the knowledge of Bezmialem Vakif University of the nursing students in terms of nursing process. This research conducted online with 154 nursing department students studying in Bezmialem Vakıf University between 16.06.2020- 22.06.2020 due to covid-19 outbreak. The data were collected using the 'Nursing process knowledge and application form''. In the evaluation of the data, analyzes were made with SPSS 21 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) statistical program and the significance percentage was determined as p˂0.05. The normality distribution of the data of the research was conducted with the Kolmogorov Simirnov test. All variables p˂0.05 therefore, analyzes were performed using nonparametric tests. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation for descriptive tests, Anova, Kruskal Vallis, Mann Whitney U and Pearson correlation coefficients were used for comparative analysis. The average age of the nursing students is 20.44 ± 2.20, %93,5 of them are female nursing students. Total knowledge score averages were determined as 11.50 ± 2.04 for female nursing students and 10.10 ± 3.69 for male nursing students. Considering the high school, they graduated from, the total knowledge score average of those who graduated from science high school is the highest and is 12.00 ± 1.00. When the education status of parents was examined, the total knowledge score averages of nursing students whose parent education is undergraduate was found to be higher 11.50 ± 1.24. It was found that nursing students answered the questions about nursing process correctly between %41,6 and %98,7. It was found total knowledge score average of 1st graders 10.67 ± 1.66, total knowledge score average of 2nd graders 11,03±2,15, total knowledge score average of 3rd graders 11,42±2,46, total knowledge score average of 4th graders 12,64±2,12. As a result of the resarch, it was found that the older the nursing students' age, the higher their knowledge of the nursing process (p <0.05).
