Abstract (EN)
Person has a permanent relation with knowledge. Learning is the mean and the aim of existence of people. Where this knowledge starts and to where this knowledge can reach and what is knowledge and what isn?t knowledge is essential questions of people who want to learn and have this knowledge. An another important question is whether the knowledge is limited or unlimited. There are different answers of these questions, even contrary answers to each other in the history of the philosophy. While firstly Plato has answered these questions systematically in the history of the philosophy, Farabi has firstly answered these questions in relation to İslamic tradition in İslamic thought. Therefore ,I have studied Plato and Farabi in my thesis, who are very important persons in the history of the philosophy. Plato and Farabi have searched the final point of the knowledge external of logic and intelligence and have wanted to transport and fasten to divine area. Therefore while Plato had claimed the theory of idea, Farabi have claimed the comphrehension (understanding) of forms. For this reason ,I have told about sensory knowlodge divine knowledge the world of idea and the comprehension of forms around Plato and Farabi in my study. In my study I have banded together in two chapters. In first chapter,I have generally mentioned the problem of the possibility, resource and frontier of knowledge then knowledge relation to concept, language and ethics in Plato and Farabi; the possibility of false at knowledge, knowledge relation to assumption and the problem of the stages and the criterion of knowledge. In second part of my study, I have refered the role of the theory of ideas and forms around sensory, intellectual and intuition knowledge.Key Words:1. Plato2. Farabi3. Sensory knowledge4. Absolute knowledge5. The theory of idea
